Omnipresence Of The Act Called Sex!

Is it that we are not able to control our little citizens from realizing the power of that blissful energy within? Or…are we running from our supreme responsibility to protect our kids? Or…do we want to give them ‘absolute freedom’?
Or should I repent that why on earth was I born so early….am I primitive?

There were endless questions crossing my mind when I came to know that twelve-year-old children will be legally permitted to have non-penetrative sex with children their age, according to a draft Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Bill, 2010.
Universally speaking…the law is surely going to make Facebook lose its number one rank on international front, as far as entertainment is concerned!!!

Children under the age group of 12 to 14 are already getting exposed to the world of sexual ecstasy through various means of communication like our glamorous television, infinitely expanding World Wide Web, the entire cell network…and the list is always going to expand. Under what impression are we spending our lives? Aren’t we aware about the fact that our kids are already exposed to the intoxicating idea of losing virginity! Does this bill make any difference to the lives of our kids? Weren’t they already engaged in some sort of sexual activity before our lords legally permitted them to do it all?
There is an old saying, “Anything which reaches its extreme, becomes lethal”. So true it is!!!! Those kids who were already floating into their world of fantasy for opposite sex are now told to float freely and endlessly.

I don’t know why…but the word called ‘children’ written in the legal statement about their allowance in non-penetrative sex seems to be ethereal and superfluous when the subject is sex.

We are in a country where just the very screen presence of an object called cigarette undergoes various stages of censor check! We are in a country where the daily-life-word called FUCK is never given a respectable consent to be pronounced in public or on screen! Suddenly, we enter into the SEX Age!!! The age where penetration becomes celebration at any age…the age where a child is provoked to bear another child…God Forbid, if this happens! With the ever-rising statistics of child abuse, this law is simply a catalyst for the same with improved efficiency and repute because it is a lawful act…as of now!

And then we could imagine wild things happening around us. Today, children amuse themselves through the vast array of junk food, Facebook, Bollywood and the list is quite seriously growing…but once our little kids get exposed to this ridiculously beautiful line of law, the entire world of words written above will be surely replaced by just one word…SEX.
Isn’t it scaringly weird…and that too when whatever I am thinking is quite decent according to my knowledge. What all could happen is beyond your and my reach!
Certainly, if such laws are passed and if they reach every home and bed, they must be exploited to the fullest. I know … I shouldn’t be saying it all, but there is a line by Abraham Lincoln which forces me to say it, “The best way to get a bad law repealed is to enforce it strictly”. Unfortunately true!

Or … should I say that … “Our age old law is growing, it is crossing its beautiful age of adolescence and therefore is able to understand all other adolescents in our country”…or …is it that “law is blind, that it cannot understand the state of the mind of a 12 to 14 years age”. Then, in that case, I have grown up in this world hearing about the blindness of two things; law and love, both of which are fundamental for the existence of Homo sapiens. Now, only the two blind entities can understand the state of each other. “Law has helped us ‘make love’ at almost any age”. True! This is what I can gracefully or crudely conclude.

There are many things existing in our world which would be of no use, once this law is applied. What sense does the film rating would make…will it matter if the film is “U” rated or “A” rated? Will it matter whether our children play with Barbie dolls or pocket-sized SUVs or various sex toys? Will it matter if our kids force their company on us when we go for getting a pack of condoms?

I think, our respected legal system is quite aware or rather educated about the mighty gap between non-penetrative and penetrative sex…right, or they have suddenly become sensitive about developing the ability of “self-control” in little people who are still busy in their fight for ….like who gets a bigger piece of Dairy Milk or who gets a brighter balloon! Now suddenly they will fight for something else which is bigger in size and now balloon will be something else for these kids…you getting me, right!

The truth is that there are certain things which cannot be ruled over.  Sexual energy cannot be easily controlled. It is pure indulgence. Afterall, how low can we go than the age of 12…??? It is not even a teenage. I am sorry to say but to me, it seems as if Our Law wants to get rid of any kind of responsibility and therefore it has set the age as low as 12, keeping no chance to get lower than this. Who had sex and when and where and at what age is nobody’s business. Let’s leave it on individuals and their parents. Rather, we should concentrate on sex education which must be made mandatory since the age of 12. There are various other subjects which demand more focus like rape, eve teasing, sex without consensus….list goes on….

For me, it’s ridiculous to set the age for non-penetrative sex. Who knows, if some day we get up in the morning just in order to read newspaper with the matter written as, “twelve-year-old children will be legally permitted to have penetrative sex with children their age, according to a draft Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Bill.”

  1. awsome stuff...highly provocative and insightful...u have said it very right..meaning of balloons is goin to be different for the generation to come...this is like giving licence to drive a car without taking care of teaching one how to drive...our gr8 govt. instead of making sex education mandatory, is making sex itself mandatory for the toddlers...!!!

  4. I think it’s not just a matter concerning penetrative or non penetrative sex at the so age of 12 neither the defined absolute freedom to prevent child abuse, being subjective....it is the same country where a gang rape committed on a 15yr old girl by 9,11,16 and 20yrs old boys just a few days back...the 9 and 11 are even below 12...then what line is to be set?? Or there is need for such set line??
I think law makers should firstly research over the matters they have to look into...the priorities must be checked moreover significance to such "protection bills" must be defined!!

  5. Exactly...law makers must contribute on those subjects over which they are supposed to. Actually they choose such subjects which interests
    them.
